Bringing The Heat
SPIRITUS SYSTEMS- MUFF Review
Have you ever seen Tom Brady throw a touchdown at Foxborough with mittens on? Is a pigs pussy made of sheet metal? Did Bush do 9/11? (yes but as far as the governments concerned-) No. Why shoot your gun that way?
The anatomy of the situation-
The muff has 3 holes- that being said all my pipe hitters should know how to work it.
A fully semiambi access to a polartec wind pro lining is just slip past the Ditka (Mike Ditka the famous bears tight end i don't know why I have second football reference so far I’m gonna stop soon I promise). A small front pocket for all your admin purposes. And a couple ways to use it.
The meat and potatoes is the main compartment you shove your hands into. Featuring a Polartec Wind Pro lining this thing fucking cranks out heat for lack of a better term. On a crispy -14 degree day in northern NH you best believe this thing brings the heat.
The back features a self storing velcro field that extends to hook under your plate carrier. All you have to do is take your highspeed ferro concepts roll 1 and throw it on the back of your setup. I promise unless you weigh 300 pounds you can probably still reach it and we can still see it. NKDA we know boy.
When you don’t need to use your muff feel free to roll it right up. Spiritus takes advantage of this cool old tech called a zipper. Pretty sure my grandfather used that as a slur? Just roll the muff up and connect the two sides together featuring the finest ykk pull.
Does your girlfriend’s husband think it's cute? He can wear it around park city to keep his little hands warm. Every muff comes with a back strap that hooks into a 1 inch buckle on either side. Adjust the strap and your winter fanny is in.
Coming in at $129.95 the muff leaves little room for error. After all, it's a tube to keep your hands warm.
Who needs a lil muff in their life?
The thermostat in your basement is probably real close to the Modine heater. Google it. On the off chance you actually got outside you need to be prepared for the elements.
Half of you probably don't even know that your trigger guard used to be able to drop down. Cue “bAcK iN mY dAy!” mofuckaz. Have you ever shot with trigger finger mittens? Shit sucks. Especially for all the homies with triggers so light your lower gut produced cola burp would bang that bitch off.
Now unless you live in the arctic circle you can probably see a great benefit to keep your hands as warm as possible not in gloves. Dexterity is king. Gloves are great if it's freezing or you plan on working around glass or other sharp shit.
My experience-
I have used the MUFF extensively for 2 winters now. It does its job superbly. I don't normally have a lot of complaints but gosh darn it it's so good. Im autistic so I hate when shit is on my hands. Gloves are always a last resort for me so when I saw the wrm.fzy and spiritus collab I jumped on it- also come on- its God’s Plaid.
At this point in my life I have 0 reason to care about the back strap. It's literally just that- and barely does a good job at that. Thank spiritus for a simple 1” buckle. Get some stretchy stuff back their guys! I dont wanna buy an aftermarket part. I want it to be comfortable AND secure. I know you can do it.
The meat of this is the muff itself- the quality is great. The stitching from spiritus is always top notch. Zipper pull feels great and grants quick and easy access to the front pocket. Normally I run my P365 and my wallet in here. Let the record show it's like wearing sweatpants in a strip club. Comfortable maybe- but everyone can see what's going on.
I've used this bad boy on days ranging from 40 degrees to a god awful -20. On the ice of winnipesaukee, on the range, and window shopping NYC. It outperforms my expectations every time. The cinched ends make a great seal around your hands and you can instantly feel the heat begin to generate. It's like mittens on steroids!
Throwing a single handwarmer in it is like pouring moonshine in a Ducati- Idk what would really happen but i presume it would be fucking insane.
IT WORKS SO WELL.
Oh and did a mention woman love it?
“Hands cold girl? Put your hands in my muff. Nice huh?”
Using this on the range has been a godsend. Using gloves for intricate things like loading mags, feeling the wall of your trigger, or changing the music on your phone are such tactile feelings. Your fingers need to be on that shit. The comfort that comes from being able to stay warm and have your dexterity are unmatched. I seriously can't recommend it enough.
Should you buy it?
Idk. Does anything I said in this article make you feel strongly one way or another? Listen to your heart babe. It's priceless.
