CRYE PRECISION - 5.56/7.62/MBITR POUCH First Impressions

The Backstory-

When you are looking at buying some kit influencers push you to Ferro, Spiritus, and if you are dumb something like AR 500. One name that you know but don’t see often past the JPC is Crye Precision. When building out my LV119 I wanted some side expansion, so I fired up the World Wide Web.

When I went to Crye’s website it was down for construction, but I decided to wait as I was used to this from them in the past. The last time I bought from them my LVS took over 4 months to arrive, thankfully that wasn’t the case this time. After a week of waiting I got the order in and it arrived about a week later.

My Impressions-

Lets get the nitty gritty out of the way first- it’s $51.70 on the dot. For some people that can be a lot of money for a way to hold 2 mags to your body, but you get what you pay for.

In typical Crye fashion the pouch is is made from high quality materials and sewn together by hand- available in Multicam, Coyote, Ranger Green, and Black respectively.

The pouch features mounting options for Molle, Belt, and AVS hookups. I strapped it through the cummerbund of my LV119 and it sits solid.

The pouch itself is pretty versatile, you can fit anything from 2 5.56 Mags, your knockoff MBITR, or a water bottle (@getyoursips). The pouch features a drawstring tab to synch down on whatever crap you are making it hold. Pair that with the velcro flap/ bungee system and its and your gear isn’t going anywhere it shouldn’t.

When not in use the pouch gets real skinny, which can keep your arms free from bumping into mags when you are reaching for the cookie jar on top of the fridge.

Conclusion-

So far this pouch does for me exactly what I need, it holds 2 mags on my plate carrier on my other dominant side. For that I can’t complain. Im excited to get more reps in with it transferring mags to my placard once I run them dry and throw them in the TREX ARMS Dump Pouch.

The only thing I can complain about off the top of my head is the absolutely ridiculously long name they gave this thing. Seriously Crye- figure it out.
