Spiritus Systems- GP Wide First Impressions

Introducing the new Spiritus Systems GP Wide- your back panels new best friend.

For those of you that don’t know- I am a huge Spiritus Systems fan. The gear they produce is top-fuckin-notch. Supreme sewing, high grade materials, and Berry Amendment compliant? Sign me up.

When Spiritus released the MOLLE Back Panel I knew the kit to fill it up was coming. I ordered it and its been sitting flush on my LV119 for fucking months, doing nothing but looking like a hippie beaded car seat. Thankfully that changed about a week ago.

This pouch has been teased for awhile now, and I’ve been hooked since the first time I saw it. Fast fingers me ordered it in Multicam Arid. I was actually fast enough to be one of the first 100 people with one. This landed me the limited edition Ernie patch for all my wide head mother fuckers out there (I see you Arnold!).

Priced at $72.95 USD this pouch sports 500D Cordura Nylon and officially licensed Crye Precision patterns. This thing is sure to be a tank for anything your mothers basement, boating accidents, or your neighbors bushes will throw at it.

The pouch runs 6 Molle wide- the perfect width for my back panel. Spiritus quotes “Dimensions (Approximate) Height 6" x Width 10.5" x Depth 3"“ This leaves the perfect amount of space to add a JSTA Pouch and GP small (en route). Look out for the JSTA review soon.

There are two compartments to the GP Wide. The first is on the front- it can hold small items like candy bars for your fat m8s before you raid the fridge for more pizza rolls. The second and main compartment sports something new for Spiritus (to my knowledge), a mesh diver pocket. Easily stash things like batteries for your nods, lights, and lasers here to keep them from flopping around the rest of the pouch.

You can fit so many DTNVGS in this bad boy! *slaps pouch* Well, one according to Spiritus. For us civilians without 45k to drop on quads we can stuff things in it like tools for maintaining your gear or breaching operations. Feel free to mount any of the spiritus systems inserts to the internal loop field for added functionality like holding bangers, chem lights, or medical things.

If you are feelin extra froggy you can even mount this entire pouch to your belt- with the integrated belt loop spots that can accommodate belts up to two inches. Why you would do this is beyond me- but hey its extra functionality so who the fuck cares?
